Thursdays are always interesting. William goes golfing April-October. He leaves straight from work and doesn't get home until 9:00ish, so it is just me and the kids all evening long.
Sometimes - the evening is reeeaaaallllyyyyy long.
One Thursday the kids were being extra sweet. We mostly had an enjoyable evening, minus me dropping a hot dog and then Rebekah dropping another hot dog. (Oh I was so mad at myself...and then fueled by my anger at myself I was overly mad at her for doing it too...)
We were all sitting at dinner and Rebekah said "Mom, I love you more than ice cream!" I laughed and told her I loved her too. I was even flattered - she likes ice cream a lot. Then she says "And I love you more than bee stings!" Ummm - ok. I wasn't really sure what to say at this one.
She repeated this while cleaning off the table and later as she was getting ready for her shower. "Mom! I love you more than ice cream and bee stings!"
When I was tucking them in bed she said it again - and added a few undesirable things into the mix. So I replied "I love you more than pickle juice and whip cream!"
Rebekah looked at me quizzically and said "But mom, you don't like pickles!"
"True. Do you like bee stings?"
I'm still scratching my head at this one...but I did find it funny!
